I always love when one of our long time clients comes to visits. I have been photographing Ms J. for a while now and it is an absolute hoot when the kids know me well enouph to give me a hard time..... or at least they try. Now, mind you, I'm now complaining because I know them pretty well too and I give it right back. It really is a treat not only because it makes for a fun session but I'm able to engage with my young subject and create images that are very personal and engaging not only for me but for her and her family. She was a real trooper today, not only did we do a whole bunch of work in color but she agreed to let me photograph her for my new project. Here are a few samples from that work.
I LOVE spring -- winter is fading, trees and flowers are begining to bloom & refresh as the days warm up and we begin to photograph boys and girls preparing for their First Holy Communion. EVERYTIME one of our girls comes to the set in her beautiful white dress, hair done up and a smile from ear to ear, I can't help but smile just as big. The boys are more suble, their dark suits make them look like little men and their smile is almost coy. It is particularly enjoyable to watch a child, whom we have photogrraphed with their parents or siblilings, RELISH having the spotlight on them alone.
