Wehmeier Portraits goes Hollywood .... sort of

Beginning on June 1st, Inside Looks by debi Ross will be providing set decorating services for a locally produced film entitled:  D.I.N.K.s, a comedy of choice.   In addition to providing set decorating services, debi has worked with the films writer/producer, Robert Alaniz to direct as much filming to the Orland Park area.  Currently, 65% of the film will be shot right here in and around Orland Park.    Several Orland Park Chamber businesses have signed on to provide sites for the film.  Look for cameras at Papa Joe's Restaurant, Wehmeier Portraits, The Horton Group, Coldwater Creek, Francesca's Collection, Black House/White Market, Kamp Builders, Orland Chateau and Pepe's Tacos.   Terry's Lincoln Mercury will provide vehicles for the film as well. Are you an aspiring actor or want to be part of the action?  Extras are needed at Orland Chateau on Monday, June 7th at 2pm and Tuesday, June 8th at 9am and 2pm.  You must sign up to be an extra by contacting debi Ross at debiross@insidelooks.com

4 Quick Photography Tips

As Spring arrives there is no better time to dust off the camera and get ready to photograph your family having fun.  Here are a few tips to help you create wonderful images for your scrapbook or for sharing with family and friends on Facebook.

1.  Pull the camera out of the case, charge the batteries, and download any old images on the card to your computer.  The more available you make the camera (on the kitchen counter or by the back door), the more likely you are to grab it and use it.  Having the battery charged and the memory card clear of old images helps to make sure you are ready when the time is right.

2.  Download the images to your computer as often as possible.   Friends and family love to see what your kids have been up to and much like a news report, the more current the more interesting.  Review your images to see how you did - what worked? what kind of images do you like best? Don’t be fooled, memory cards can become corrupted without warning and you will lose those images.  Losing 1 image is frustrating, losing 6 months worth is a disaster.

3.  Take your camera with you.  You never know when the opportunity will present itself for great family photos.  Keep it light - the lighter the camera and the fewer accessories you have easier it is to keep with you.

4.  Let kids be kids.  Watch for the moments when the kids are interested in their activity or playing with one another as these make for great images showing their age and personality.  Give the kids something to do - blow bubbles, play in the sandbox, chalk up the sidewalk, play dress up, etc.  Get mom and dad involved in the play, but make sure to swap the camera so both mom and dad are in some pictures.

History happens everyday – be ready for it.
